A painter of the 1914 Generation. He worked in Cormon's studio in Paris and was called to Ankara during the War of Independence, where he produced the documentary compositions of that period. His small landscapes and sketches show a far freer painter than his large canvases do. He died at forty-one, and the work he left is the record of a manner that never had the chance to mature.
